Sydney Film School was founded 14 years ago to teach the essential filmmaking ‘tools’ necessary for a successful career in the global film industry. It is an intense learning experience with our graduates learning all aspects of the filmmaking process and leaving SFS with up to 20 film credits.

Sydney Film School offers two one-year courses: a Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media. While the Diploma course provides a working knowledge of how to make your stories visual, the Advanced Diploma allows students to apply what they’ve learned to their chosen specialisation.

While our Trainers are experts at delivering craft instruction, they are also working members of the film industry and talent scouts. It is not uncommon for an instructor to pick out and employ outstanding students.

Now located alongside International Screen Academy, in Waterloo we are situated in a purpose built facility with world-class equipment available to our students. The International Screen Academy is one of Sydney's top acting schools. In addition, a ready supply of emerging screen actors at our filmmakers’ disposal will certainly strengthen casting outcomes. Our model is one that encourages your creative expression and gives you real filmmaking experience.

We invite you to join our film community…

**Please note that as of December 31, 2018 Sydney Film School will form part of International Screen Academy Pty Ltd. This will not change the course content, structure or outcomes. Students will be enrolled at International Screen Academy Pty Ltd trading as Sydney Film School. Should you require further information, please contact our recruitment manager for details.
