Graduates

Graduates leave with their extensive showreel of films. Many of our graduates continue to keep in contact and work together with one another, and become part of our growing life member community. Life members have exclusive access to a Weekly Job Bulletin.
The Sydney Film School (SFS) Industry Advisory Board (IAB) started in 2009 to provide support to the ever-growing SFS Alumni community.
Some recent graduate stories include:
- A group of SFS graduates worked on the production of John Duigan's feature Careless Love: Gary Sofarelli as Production Co-ordinator; Charlie Mortimer as Unit Manager; Seth Darby as Key Art Department Assistant; Lee Launay as Art Department Assistant; Kiko Costa as Art Department Assistant; Peter Ireland as Extras Casting; Winnie Sempio as Assistant Editor; Adrian Cordero as Production/Camera Assistant; Nicole Delprado as Clapper Loader/Camera Assistant; Jonas Frykberg as Assistant Gaffer and Filippo Grando as Stills Photographer
- Nick Danger has been internationally awarded for his feature film 'Sick'. Sick, has won Best Comedy Feature and Best Supporting Actress at the 2012 American Independent Filmmaker Showcase in LA
- A music video by our 2010 graduate Andrew Pearce has been selected as an official music video for Duran Duran’s single 'Before the Rain'
- In 2011 graduate Oliver Farkas worked as a Colour Pipeline Supervisor on the animated feature Happy Feet 2 (Dir. George Miller)
- Katharine Thornton is Distribution Manager at Sharmill Films, one of Australia’s leading distributors
- Epiphany Morgan is in the run for the 2012 ADG Awards (Best Student Director category) for her documentary 'The Room' produced at SFS in 2010. The documentary has been given an educational release through V.E.A. (Video Education Australia)
- Graduate Caroline Ingvarsson worked as Production Coordinator and Casting Director on Hail, a debut feature by Award winning Australian writer director Amiel Courtin-Wilson
- A short script by 2008 graduate Skan Aryurapong is being produced for the national Thai Television TV PBS
- 2006 graduate Maya Newell has been awarded the Outstanding New Documentary Talent Award at the 2011 Adelaide Film Festival and is now in production of a new feature documentary, Gayby Baby about the experiences and perspectives of children growing up in same-sex families
- 2008 graduate Karen Crespo is currently working as an Assembly Editor at Fremantle Media, the producer of the Channel Ten show MasterChef
- Since graduating SFS in 2005, Kate Hickey (now based in LA) assisted acclaimed American editor Dylan Tichenor A.C.E., who edited films such as 'There Will Be Blood', 'Brokeback Mountain' and 'The Royal Tenenbaums'. In 2010 she worked on 'The Town' (Dir. Ben Affleck)
- 2009 graduate Joaquin Loyzaga works at Weta Workshop, a special effects and prop company based in New Zealand, producing effects for television and films such as Peter Jackson’s trilogy The Lord of the Rings
- Gracie Otto is currently shooting feature documentary on legendary British producer, Michael White. In 2009 she edited acclaimed feature Three Blind Mice.
