Meet the Filmmaker
Sydney Film School's Meet The Filmmaker program is a wonderful opportunity for students to meet and learn from some of Australia's working film professionals. These three hour classes offer insight into the craft, art and Australian industry of film and television
There have been two Meet The Filmmaker classes thus far this semester and three more are to follow. The program kicked off Monday February 22 with Jeremy Brull, the writer/director for YouTube series, "The Justice Lease" who was joined by producer Erasmo Raimundo. The following week on February 29, Sydney Film School hosted sound designer, Rob Mackenzie. Mackenzie has such credits to his name as the acclaimed Australian films, "The Rover" and "Animal Kingdom.
On March 7, Sydney Film School will host veteran editor/director, Rob Gibson who will talk about the art and philosophy of editing. Rob has such TV credits to his name "Packed To The Rafters" and "All Saints", and films as "Flirting" and the John Cleese comedy, "Fierce Creatures". On Monday March 14 we will be welcoming Carlos Furtado and Jara Pinheiro who both have credits in the camera department of short films. Furtado and Pinheiro will be speaking to us about specialist film making, particularly in the public health sector. Finally, on March 21 actor/producer Rosie Lourde (who appeared in the 2013 film, "Felony" written and starring Joel Edgerton") will be coming in to speak to our students about the making of the indie film "Skin Deep".
