'Jack Goes Home' at SXSW
Feature film, "Jack Goes Home" which features the art direction of Sydney Film School alumni, Lee Launey, will make it's premiere at this year's SXSW Film Festival.
Launay graduated from Sydney Film School in 2010 and has since worked at several of the Australian television stations as well as at Sony Pictures, Universal and Disney. However, his main draw has been to the art department in motion pictures and he is making quite a name for himself. Launay worked in the props department for the 2013 film, 'Goddess' and action blockbuster, 'The Wolverine', where he did everything from setting up sets to handing Hugh Jackman his claws everyday.
"Jack Goes Home" is Launey's first feature film as art director. The film stars Rory Culkin, Nikki Reed and Britt Robertson a nd follows a son who returns home after his father's death to nurse his mother back to health, but finding that there are secrets he must uncover.
The film will premiere at SXSW in Austin, Texas on March 14 in the Midnighters section of the festival's program.
