Palace Academy Twin Cinema, 3A Oxford Street, Paddington
Sydney Film School invites you to participate in a panel discussion ‘What is a ‘winning’ idea? : Funding Opportunities for Graduates’.

The panel will focus on the relationship between funding bodies/investors/distributors and the generators of ideas. It aims to provide guidance to emerging filmmakers on how to develop and produce their film projects in line with existing funding opportunities and to understand the expectations and criteria set by their respective constituents.
Representatives of public and private funding (Screen NSW, Screen Australia, SBS and Hopscotch Films Distributor) will discuss and exchange their views on what constitutes a ‘winning idea’ or a ‘winning project’.
Participating at the Panel:
► Sam Jennings - Development Executive at Screen NSW
► Nicole O'Donohue - Independent Producer, "Griff the Invisible"
► Julia Overton - Documentary Investment Manager at Screen Australia
► Caterina DeNave - Executive Producer - Drama/Comedy, SBS
► Peter Newman - Executive Producer, Factual - Commissioned Content, SBS
► Rachel Okine - Acquisitions and Production Manager – Hopscotch Films
and ‘moderator’...
► Michael McLennan - Sydney Film School graduate representing the emerging perspective, and asking the questions students need answered.
Come along and find out the answer to the following question: I am an emerging filmmaker and I’ve got a good idea for a drama, doco, TV series.... What should I do to get financial support? What are the key things that would give my project a chance of success?
Event is free and open to all!
